If you love getting lost in England’s natural spoils, drive about 35 minutes from Scarborough to North York Moors National Park. This expansive nature reserve features religious ruins and old-world villages interspersed with wooded valleys, tranquil rivers and coastal cliffs. Hikers should take on the Cleveland Way, a 177-kilometre-long route that skirts the national park and soaks up stunning ocean vistas.

Seafood lovers can time their visit for the annual Seafest Maritime Festival in June, where you can indulge in some of England’s best seafood dishes and enjoy live entertainment.
