North Las Vegas is an area located north and east of Las Vegas city, in the American state of Nevada. Stretching out beneath the skyscrapers of its more famous neighbour, North Las Vegas is a hub for high-tech technology businesses and manufacturing. It's also a large residential area with large planned communities like Aliante and Eldorado. There is a distinctively different atmosphere to the casinos and lights of nearby Las Vegas.
Nevada's manufacturing and industry has historically been located here, and North Las Vegas become a hub for solar and green technology companies. Apex Industrial Park is where many major businesses are situated. The city has been exceptionally planned, with 34 parks stretching out between the different residential neighbourhoods. Most notable are the paved hiking and bicycle trails of the Lower Las Vegas Wash.
North Las Vegas Airport is only used for charter flights with the Grand Canyon aerial tours departing from here. Domestic and international flights land at McCarran International Airport, which is south of Las Vegas and around 45 minutes drive from North Las Vegas. RTC Transit bus services connect the city with destinations in Las Vegas and beyond.
North Las Vegas became a city in 1946 and is the fourth largest city in Nevada.
