Where to stay in Moraira

About Moraira

A picturesque resort town on the Spanish Costa Blanca, Moraira retains the ambience of a quaint fishing port while offering leisure activities. The beaches boast water sports, regattas and a lively marina, while cafes, bars and sprawling vineyards are dotted throughout Moraira.

Things to do

Beaches are the main draw in Moraira, with two strips of sand offering sunbathing and swimming. l’Ampolla Beach stretches along the coast near the town’s castle, which also has a children’s play area and beach ball games. El Portet Beach features dining and drinking establishments, along with a coastal path to the marina and main town.

For water sports and sailboat rentals, drive a few minutes to Calpe, where you can go jet skiing, paragliding and scuba diving. This is also where to find the Penon de Ifach, an enormous rock and nature reserve with a small museum documenting its history.

Browse the boutiques and small gift shops in the old market square of Moraira, where you can pick up leather goods, antiques and beach gear. Visit Muskatel wineries and vineyards in the countryside or do some wine tasting at local cafes and pubs.

There are plenty of places to wine and dine in Moraira, including grazing on tapas at Bar Costa Blanca or Meson el Refugio. Alternatively, head over to the European Shopping Centre for a variety of eateries serving British fish and chips and Indian cuisine.

Getting around

You can rent bicycles, motorbikes and cars in town or catch the Costa Blanca coastal tram in neighbouring Teleuda. Rental cars are also available at Alicante Airport, about 80 kilometres away.
