Where to stay in Faisalābād

About Faisalābād

Faisalabad combines centuries of South Asian history and culture with a fascinating British Raj legacy. One of the largest cities in Pakistan, it’s a hub for art and entertainment. Admire the magnificent colonial architecture, shop at bustling bazaars and visit museums filled with local artefacts.

Things to do in Faisalābād

Ghanta Ghar Clock Tower is set in the heart of the Old City. It was built in 1905 during the British Raj era and features a magnificent red sandstone façade. A cluster of bazaars surround the clock tower and sell everything from clothes and electronics to colourful spices, ayurvedic medicines and Islamic books.

Lyallpur Museum showcases one of the largest collections of paintings and historical artefacts in Pakistan. Kids love the gallery filled with taxidermy animals. Other galleries showcase colourful Pakistani textiles, weapons from the British Raj era and paintings by local artists.

Escape the crowds and enjoy a stroll in Jinnah Gardens. The beautifully manicured park features lush lawns and beautiful flowerbeds. On weekends, food stands pop up in the park and will tempt you with local snacks like deep-fried “bhalla” croquets topped with yogurt and chutney. Rabri, a refreshing drink made with milk, peanuts, almonds and dried fruit, is a great thirst quencher.

Gutwala Park is another beautiful green space. Enjoy a picnic on the grass, visit the miniature zoo and watch wild peacocks strutting around the gardens. One of the lakes is home to several crocodiles, and if you look closely, you can see them basking on the shoreline.

Getting around Faisalābād

Auto rickshaws are a fast and affordable way to get around Faisalabad, while taxis are also a good option. Local buses operate in the city but take longer than auto rickshaws and taxis. Faisalabad International Airport is a 40-minute drive away.
